More information about the video content bellow: 1. Liechtenstein is named after their monarch. In 1719, after the land was purchased, the Holy Roman Emperor decreed the creation of the principality, naming it after the noble family who ruled over the land. The Princely Family of Liechtenstein, hails from Castle Liechtenstein in Lower Austria, which the family possessed from at least 1140 to the thirteenth century, and from 1807 onward. 2. Liechtenstein backs up its stance of being 100% neutral by not having an actively serving military at any given time. The ruling prince has so much authority, however, that one could be instituted in a second if needed. The last time Liechtenstein did field an armed force was in 1866 for the Austro-Prussian War. The total number of soldiers was just 80 and they didn’t see any fighting. The last soldier to serve in Liechtenstein died in 1939. 3. Liechtenstein is also one of the few countries in the world today that has more registered businesses within its borders than it does actual citizens. This is because it has the second-lowest business taxes in all of Europe at just 12.5%. Their rules of incorporation also allow holding companies to register an office in the principality, which actually accounts for up to 30% of the tax revenues which are received. 4. Liechtenstein has the second highest gross domestic product per capita in the world, with each resident accounting for $89,000+ every year. What contributes to all of this wealth? The principality is the world’s largest producer of false teeth. Ceramics play a critical role within the infrastructure, but tourism also plays a major role. 5. Liechtenstein is also notable for the fact that is became the last country in Europe to grant women the right to vote. A referendum was held on July 1, 1984, to decide whether women should be allowed to vote. Only men voted in this election, of course, and the referendum passed with a 51.3% majority. 6. There is a national police force which patrols the entire principality of Liechtenstein. The force consists of about 90 officers and about 40 more support staff. Small arms are given to the officers. The crime rate within the principality is one of the lowest in the world and there are many jails in the nation that don’t have any prisoners in them at all. If someone is sentenced to a term that is 2 years or longer, however, that prisoner is transferred to an Austrian prison. 7. Liechtenstein only has one hospital within the entire nation. In comparison, Washington DC has 16 different hospitals, with two of them being military related. Remarkably only about 1 in 6 people actually lives in the urban areas of Liechtenstein, making the cities remarkably small and the nation mostly rural. Shortcomings in banking regulatory oversight have resulted in concerns about the use of the financial institutions for money laundering and tax evasion. However, the days of bringing suitcases of money into banks for deposit without questions asked is over. Liechtensteiners are also very proud of the fact that their nation has never been physically involved in a battle or military confrontation with an "enemy state" and see their flag as a banner of peace. Liechtenstein Travel Guide: It's true, Liechtenstein makes a fabulous wine-and-cheese-hour trivia subject -- Did you know it was the sixth smallest country?... It's still governed by an iron-willed monarch who lives in a Gothic castle on a hill... Yes, it really is the world's largest producer of dentures... But if you're visiting this pocket-sized principality solely for the cocktail-party bragging rights, keep the operation covert. This theme-park micronation takes its independence seriously and would shudder at the thought of being considered for novelty value alone. Liechtenstein would rather be remembered for its stunning natural beauty. The Principality of Liechtenstein was established within the Holy Roman Empire in 1719 and became a sovereign state in 1806. Until the end of World War I, it was closely tied to Austria, but the economic devastation caused by that conflict forced Liechtenstein to conclude a customs and monetary union with Switzerland. Despite its small size and limited natural resources, Liechtenstein has developed into a prosperous, highly industrialized, free-enterprise economy with a vital financial service sector and living standards on a par with the urban areas of its large European neighbors. The Liechtenstein economy is widely diversified with a large number of small businesses. Low business taxes--the maximum tax rate is 20%--and easy incorporation rules have induced a large number of holding or so-called letter box companies to establish nominal offices in Liechtenstein, providing 30% of state revenues. GRECO recommended to review the powers of the Prince, as enshrined in article 12 of the Constitution and other pieces of legislation, to block or discontinue criminal investigations and proceedings. 16. GRECO recommended to ensure that the selection of judges, including temporary ad hoc judges, is effected in an impartial manner. 27. GRECO recommended to ensure that adequate access to information and evidence is granted for the investigation of the various corruption-related offences. 53. The list of Indians with accounts in LGT Bank, in European tax haven Liechtenstein, that is now with the government shows that 18 individuals collectively put away Rs 39.66 crore during 2002-04 in trusts with the bank. These individuals (see below) include businessmen in Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi and Chennai and members of their families. Their total tax penalty has been estimated at Rs 24.27 crore and recoveries have already begun from 17 of the 18 named. The list, accessed by The Indian Express, is now with the Enforcement Directorate. A copy has to be sent to the CBI as the Supreme Court has said that either the National Intelligence Agency or the CBI should go after sources of these deposits rather than just rely on the Income-Tax Department for unearthing alleged income concealment and tax evasion. The agencies have to probe whether these LGT deposits were involved with any alleged money laundering or whether the money parked abroad is proceeds from terrorist activities, drug peddling, smuggling, arms deals or activities against national security.

Media reports have for the first time named 18 Indians who allegedly have stashed away almost 40 crore rupees between 2002 and 2004 in Liechtenstein bank. In fact, the list also mentions the money that they currently owe the government. Sources say that attempts have already begun to get 17 of these 18 to pay up. This comes on the day the panel on black money set up by the finance minister met for the first time. Download the Times Now India's Election HQ app and get all the election info at one go. Liechtenstein Adventure Travel: It's true, Liechtenstein makes a fabulous wine-and-cheese-hour trivia subject -- Did you know it was the sixth smallest country?... Since World War II (in which Liechtenstein remained neutral), the country's low taxes have spurred outstanding economic growth. Subscribe to my channel: http://goo.gl/y9hQsB I didn't have any expectations coming to Liechtenstein.. it was just to tempting no to, so had to do it:) I was only here 24 hours, but was able to get a good sense of this little principality. What I saw was beautiful, I walked the most of any of the days on this hole trip and that's saying a lot:) Went through the Prince's vineyard which was so stunning and idylic. The vadudz castle, the the actual prince lives has a stunning view. I made sure to take my time and really open my senses and take it all in. This is something I love to do, and when I travel alone it's a lot easier. Traveling with other people is fun of course, but traveling alone has some serious purks as well:) On the walk down I actually got a bit emotional, realizing that I finally made it to the alp.. I have always wanted to come here, but this time I prioritized, spend the money and the happines I felt from taking my self serious and achieving my dream was overwhelming:) Liechtenstein is a great little country:) By the way if you are interested in more lifestyle videos then maybe check out my other channel GoDownsize: https://www.youtube.com/user/godownsizecom ……………………………… Gear used to shoot and edit these videos: Camera Sony: http://amzn.to/1HBjEaF Boom mic: http://amzn.to/1HBjKzf Iphone 4s and 6 plus: http://amzn.to/1HBjTm5 GoPro Hero: http://amzn.to/1LoUJrB Gopro headstrap mount: http://amzn.to/1KbQ1NC Monopod mount: http://amzn.to/1F7HNCL monopod: http://amzn.to/1F7HSGy Macbook Pro: http://amzn.to/1SstJgm ……………………………… FOLLOW me on: Instagram: http://instagram.com/one_girl_one_suitcase/ My Blog: http://www.onegirlonesuitcase.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/1Girl1Suitcase ………………………………. Liechtenstein Bank Opens Up Cryptocurrency Investment for Clients A Liechtenstein-based family bank has become one of the first banks in the world that allows clients to directly invest in cryptocurrencies. Making the announcement earlier this week, Bank Frick said that the first batch of cryptocurrencies to be available for trading will include bitcoin, bitcoin cash, litecoin, Ripple and ether. The bank said it is targeting institutional and high-value private clients, who can buy in with euros, U.S. dollars and Swiss francs. The crypto assets under the bank's custody, the announcement says, will be stored in cold wallets - a security measure that keeps private keys to the cryptocurrencies offline and away from potential hackers. Trading activities through the bank's platform will also be carried out in compliance with know-your-customer procedures required under Liechtenstein and European (EU/EEA) law. "Clients can only invest in cryptocurrencies once they have been fully identified and verified. The verification and identification process also involves checking the origin of the money used to invest in them,"according to the announcement. "Our services are in demand from companies across the whole of Europe," said Hubert Büchel, chief client officer at the bank. "We aim to place crypto-banking on at least the same level of quality as traditional banking." The move marks the latest effort among financial institutions in the region to move to support the growth of cryptocurrency and blockchain development. As reported by CoinDesk, Falcon Group, a Swiss private bank, has also started offering a bitcoin purchasing service through clients' traditional accounts in partnership with the bitcoin brokerage firm Bitcoin Suisse AG.
